Adult Basic education

Adult Basic Education (ABE) is a program of instruction designed for adults who function below the high school level. Instruction is offered in reading, writing, math, oral and written communication according to the North Carolina Adult Education Standards. ABE program offers consistent and intensive contextualized classroom instruction which meets these requirements with a focus on career exploration and workforce preparation. Students enrolled in the ABE program will share a common goal of transitioning into the workforce or additional educational programs. All students enrolled in ABE program have the right to a positive learning environment where they may achieve their educational goals.

GED & high school equivalency (HiSet) prep

This program prepares students to pass standardized equivalency tests such as the GED® or HiSET. 97% of colleges and employers accept the GED/HiSET credentials.

basic computer literacy

We teach basic computer skills so that you can apply for a job, use a computer at work or home, and to help your children with their homework.

enrichment workshops

We offer workshops to help you do things like understand your child’s report card, learn how to budget your finances, improve transition-to-employment and job seeking skills such as resume development, interviewing skills, and employability skills ("soft skills").
